Question / Future Work: Determining whether alternative, more complex non-linear fusion strategies (like MLP or Cross-Attention fusion) might eventually surpass the parsimonious 6-parameter learnable weights used in Adaptive Frequency Fusion (AFF) on datasets exhibiting extreme or unusual frequency component distributions requires further investigation, especially as the model generalizes to unseen distribution shifts.
