Applicability beyond HMD

Home / Open Questions / Applicability beyond HMD

Background: The current mortality flow-field model is trained overwhelmingly on European populations within the Human Mortality Database, potentially limiting its generalizability to populations with fundamentally different cause-of-death profiles.

Question / Future Work: The system’s applicability to populations with distinctive cause-of-death profiles (such as those affected heavily by malaria or untreated HIV/AIDS) relies on the assumption that the Tucker flow field generalizes across different epidemiological contexts, which is an open question that should be addressed.
