Joint Multi-Outcome Forecasting

Home / Open Questions / Joint Multi-Outcome Forecasting

Background: Infectious disease models can be expanded to forecast multiple related outcomes, such as cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, to provide a more comprehensive public health picture.

Question / Future Work: Another application involves jointly forecasting cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. This could be achieved by forecasting population genetic summaries of the viral population as time series inputs, paired with total cases, requiring a synthetic data simulator with appropriate evolutionary biology fidelity.
