Inclusion of SU(2) Gauge Fields
Background: The fractionalized theory used to describe certain quantum materials, like hole-doped cuprates, ignores the effects of the emergent SU(2) gauge field in the shortest distance regime.
Question / Future Work: Ignoring the SU(2) gauge field in the fractionalized model leads to discrepancies with experimental observations, such as the difficulty in naturally explaining small hole pockets or the observed light-induced SC behavior from a CDW state, suggesting that including SU(2) gauge field fluctuations is necessary for a complete description.
